Tesla Motors opens doors to the rich and famous
You've been hearing about the Tesla Roadster, the all-electric sports car, for nearly two years. On Friday, the first commercial version of the car came out of its shipping crate. The street-legal car was bought by Tesla Chairman Elon Musk, who showed it off to employees and reporters at the company headquarters in San Carlos, Calif.

Inverter maker Xantrex on Monday announced an overhaul to its inverters that let people combine a renewable energy source with some back-up power. Inverters convert direct current generated by solar panels or a wind turbine to household alternating current.
