Obama on the Trail
Sens. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Barack Obama (D-Ill.) made last-minute pitches to North Carolina and Indiana voters today, hoping to clinch support before tomorrow's primaries. The next pair of contests will award 187 delegates, but neither candidate is within reach of the 2,025 delegates needed to win the Democratic nomination. It may all come down to convincing superdelegates. Will Obama "seal the deal" tomorrow with big wins in the two states, or will the fight for the White House continue? "Nightline" co-anchor Terry Moran is on the trail with Obama tonight. For more on the race, visit our interactive timeline, Clinton and Obama: Road to the White House.
Tech Sabotage?
Media mogul Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. is in the middle of a contentious, messy lawsuit filed by EchoStar satellite company, which is alleging corporate espionage by a News Corp. subsidiary, following a failed merger. The subsidiary, NDS, is accused of hacking and posting security codes to access cards for Echostar's Dish Network pay-TV services, allowing hackers to pirate the devices. ABC's Brian Ross investigates. Read more here.
The Gas Pinch
With crude oil prices hitting an intratrday trading high of $120 a barrel this afternoon, the debate over how best to alleviate the burden on consumers continues with Sens. Hillary Clinton and John McCain pushing for a gas tax holiday. The price of gas is looming around $4, a number so high that some old-fashioned gas pumps are simply not equipped to handle it. The pumps are running out of digits. ABC's John Berman reports a "Sign of the Times."
