Technique Tips
Plank Position on Floor Targeting AbsGet into plank position - meaning, on your hands and toes as if you were going to do a push-up. Contract your abdominals keeping your torso lifted and stabilized. Your head should be in a neutral position, and your hands should be directly below your shoulders. Keep a straight line from your shoulder all the way through your ankle. Avoid rounding your upper back, arching your lower back, or pushing your buttocks in the air. This position focuses on balance and stability with little movement. Tricep KickbackIn a standing position or seated in a chair, hinge your torso forward at your hip without rounding through your back and shoulders. Point your elbows straight back and start your hands at the side of your hips. Contract your triceps to extend your elbows, making sure your arm moves straight back. Then release your triceps to allow your elbow to bend and your hands will return to the side of your hips. The closer you can get your back parallel to the floor, the more you will target your triceps.
