Bob Jackman considers himself something of a war correspondent – though he says he is having a tough time convincing some people to listen to his accounts of the battles waged in what he has dubbed Oklahoma's "Water Wars." Jackman, a Tulsa geologist, is one of a group of citizens that have been telling legislators and anyone else who will listen that the pending multimillion-dollar proposal to sell Oklahoma water to entities in Texas is a bad idea.
Economy milking cattle ranchers
Cattle ranchers squeezed by the economy are finding themselves in a conundrum of downsizing they wouldn't have expected a few decades ago, Oklahoma State University beef cow specialist Glen Selk said.

Regional manufacturing recovers from tough March
Manufacturing in the region has made a recovery from a tough March, officials at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City said. The Fed's survey of 10th District manufacturing indicated increases in many categories for April.

Supreme Court upholds Indiana voter ID law
In what some have called the most substantive election-related decision since 2000's controversial Bush v. Gore, a 6-3 U.S. Supreme Court Monday upheld Indiana's law requiring voters to produce some type of photo identification at their polling place. A less-restrictive measure is awaiting final action on House amendments in the Oklahoma Senate.
