Or, to make a bridge: Figuratively, this time -- If a holiday falls on a Thursday, one can take Friday off, thus obtaining a long weekend, or ponte. And though this year the calendar didn't work quite right, the proximity of 2 holidays -- April 25 and May 1 makes very long weekends possible (For things to have been perfect, April 25 should have fallen on Thursday, not Friday).

Top Picks - Vegetarian Italian  from your Italian Food Guide

2) Bovinity: Inside The Raw milk Underground
Though it is illegal to sell raw milk in much of the developed world, there's a brisk market for it. An interesting article that comes to the conclusion that raw milk may not be anywhere near as dangerous as the authorities say.

3) In The US: Animal Identification
A frankly disturbing article about some legislation that will make the lives of those running small farms in the US much more difficult, and that could affect individuals outside the farming community too.
