How's Your Character?
Hi Raquelle,
I'm having one of "those" days. Do you know what I mean? I didn't set my alarm so I overslept. I pulled on the outfit I wanted to wear but it's stained.
My latest goof-up just happened. I left the office to get a drink for lunch. I got my Diet Coke and headed back. Before I even got out of my car, I dropped the drink on the ground. The Styrofoam cup promptly split, spilling its entire contents.
Some days I laugh when goofy things happen. Other days I just want to scream. Moments like these reveal my true character.
What spills out when I (or my tidy little world) am bumped? Is it peace and joy? Or am I easily upset and annoyed? Am I grateful for my job that provides a nice income? Or do I worry about having enough money?
Alpha Omega/Bridgestone, our featured partner this week, produced a series called Character Builders. It’s designed for children, but is full of lessons adults could also learn. Each episode focuses on positive character traits for the young and the teachable.
So now if you'll excuse me, I need to go watch Patience and Peace. Right now!
From the screening room,

Industry Interview
David Austin, Bridgestone Multimedia Group
by Angela Walker
David Austin (Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Product Acquisitions for Bridgestone Multimedia Group [BMG]) just returned from a Nashville to his home in Michigan. He lives in a household of women. He's been married to his wife Paula a little over 25 years. They have 3 daughters: Danielle, who's 22 and married; Kait,16, is a sophomore in High School; and Sarah is a 6th-grader.
CC.com: What do you believe Bridgestone offers to consumers of Christian retail?
David: They're looking for something that they can have an emotional connection with, or something that will provide good clean wholesome entertainment for their family. If we can find or create something that meets both those needs, then we've really got something great on our hands.
Facing the Giants is a wonderful example. It connected well with women, families, and even with men (because of the sports element). There was a strong emotional element in that film - there were opportunities to laugh, to cry, and connect with your heart.
It's very much like Christian music. You may be driving down the road, but when "that song" comes on that connects with your heart. It can bring tears to your eyes.
Hopefully, we find movies that transport people like that, and...

Dove Family-Approved
Recommended for ages 12 and over
Dove Review:
As a Christian "thriller" type film, this movie would serve as a great film for junior high/high school youth groups. The movie has normal teenage themes while keeping up with the thriller aspect throughout the entire film. This is not recommended to younger children due to the "scary" feel of the movie and its slant toward teens. In the beginning of the film, it indicates that the movie itself is based on actual events, so this could be used as an educational movie to show teens the importance of praying; and that sometimes, God will be the only one you have to talk to, and God wants you to ask Him for help. The Dove Foundation happily awards the Dove Seal to this film for ages 12 and above.

Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed
by Jim Hampton
"I went to see "Expelled" yesterday and the movie should be seen by everyone. It is amazing what is happening not only in America but around the World. The arrogance and hypocrisy of the science community and the educational system in this country is incredible! The thing that is annoying is that we are paying for it! "Wake UP People"and see what is happening!!!"

C.S. Lewis: Beyond Narnia - DVD
by Kirsten Martinson
"This was VERY good. It told of C.S. Lewis' mother's death, his conversion to Christianity, and the death of his wife, Joy Grisham. It went over alot in a short amount of time and was gripping. I will recommend this to others. "
