Steve James and Peter Gilbert's (HOOP DREAMS, STEVIE, THE NEW AMERICANS) latest film follows the remarkable career journey of Carroll Pickett, who served 15 years as the death house chaplain to the infamous "Walls" prison unit in Huntsville, Texas. During that time he presided over 95 executions. [Read more.]

Five films will be selected to screen at SILVERDOCS and each filmmaker will receive a SILVERDOCS pass with travel expenses covered. More information.


FILM YOUR ISSUE (FYI) - Watch and Vote
A record-breaking 500 film submissions were entered in the 4th annual FYI: Film Your Issue competition, inviting global youth 14 to 24 to address contemporary issues with 2-minute shorts. Winners will be selected by jury, public vote, and participating organizations. Read more

Voting begins on April 28, 2008 and the winners will be announced on May 15. Voting deadline is Sunday, May 11. Vote here!.
