This week on BBC World News... Week commencing 26th April 2008

  News

This week BBC World News will be following the progress of the Olympic torch as it passes through Japan, Korea, Vietnam and Hong Kong. Will there be more celebrations than protests as it nears the final stages of its journey towards Beijing? In the UK, local elections should give a sense of the Labour government's current popularity ratings. And as Italy's new parliament meets for the first time - with far fewer parties represented – BBC World News asks whether it will usher in a new era in Italian politics.

   Reports throughout the week.
