Juried art show displays selection of student talent

Outside the Student Union Gallery, students formed a line for complimentary salmon, cheese and carrot cake. But for many, the real treat was seeing whose artwork made it into the 2008 Juried Student Art Exhibition. Amid the frenzy inside and outside the gallery, no one knew before opening which pieces had been selected.

Anti-abortion protesters label abortion genocide

Warning: Genocide Photos Ahead. Large yellow signs posted around the quad on April 15 and 16 cautioned students of the graphic display they were about to witness. Individuals and anti-abortion groups, such as event organizers UAA Students for Life and Alaska Right to Life, set up camp to protest abortion in a campaign called the Genocide Awareness Project outside the Lucy Cuddy Hall. More than 50 girls succumb to 'hysteria' DAKAR, Senegal - More than 50 school children underwent hospital treatment April 18 after developing what educators called mass hysteria, marked by fainting and screaming. Seawolf hockey signs two skaters for 08-09 UAA head hockey coach Dave Shyiak announced today the signing of Curtis Leinweber (Calgary, Alberta) and Tyler Moir (Calgary, Alberta) to National Letters of Intent to play for the Seawolves in 2008-09. The incoming duo combined to score 135 points this past season in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, while helping lead their respective teams to second- and third-place finishes in the AJHL South Division.
