From John Schulte, President of the NMOA
Are you a new business owner struggling in your efforts to wear so many
hats? Are your advertising and marketing efforts getting dismal
results? Have you ever wondered if your business is really viable
because no matter how hard you work you don't seem to get anywhere? Has
the sluggish economy and lackluster sales left you in need of free or
low cost exposure for your business so you can generate more sales?
Does this sound familiar to you? If so, read on...because I have
something important to talk with you about.
Running a small business is hard, it takes a lot of work. But working
hard does not always make you money. Over the last 30+ years of my
entrepreneurial business career there have been many times I've worked
hard on a business project hoping it will cash out...but it did not.
I've also had my share of advertisements and promotional efforts over
the years that didn't work out as well as I thought they would. But
that's the life of a marketer and an entrepreneur.
After close evaluation and hindsight, you find that many times the
failure was your own fault. Not that you didn't try or work hard enough,
but because you didn't have the right information or knowledge to do the
project correctly in the first place. Simple things are missed, or the
concept was doomed from the beginning--and because of lack of experience
you missed it...or couldn't see it.
This happens every day. People call, write, email me asking..."what
went wrong?" And there are many times where I see it was just a lack of
specialized knowledge that made a project fail. In an effort to save a
penny...they lost the dollar.
Of course you all have heard this saying --
"Penny wise and dollar foolish." But most don't think it applies to
them. That's because it's hard to see in yourself. I can't tell you how
many times someone has needed a good display advertisement created, but
when they found out how much a professional would charge to do it, they
think, "whoa" I'm not going to pay that! I'll just do it myself or have
my cousin do it, heck he makes great flyers for his pet sitting
business...I'm sure he can do my ad for cheap.
And to make matters worse, sometimes people are about to sink thousands
of dollars in advertising costs with a poorly done ad that's doomed to
failure. So they save a penny...but they lost the dollar...and valuable
time. Just think if it was a seasonal product and now you have to wait
another year to try again. Your business may sink completely by then.
Now I'm not saying good ads can't be created
by a regular person, they can, but specialized advertising knowledge is
absolutely needed...more than just knowing how to run some software.
You have to understand that you must invest in yourself, if you're going
to do it yourself. You see, the same people that didn't want to spend
the money to pay an expert, also didn't want to spend the time or money
on a book to learn how to do it right themselves. And they never asked
an expert to review it either. This is a recipe for consistent failure
every time.
I've also seen this same scenario when it comes to writing sales letters
and direct mail packages. People will spend thousands on printing,
mailing lists and postage, but they cut corners on the actual thing
that's going to do the selling. And again, they didn't spend the time
and money to learn the correct way to do it-- so at least they had a
fighting chance.
The same situation can also be seen by
people that spend a lot of time and money on projects or business
concepts/ventures that have no real chance of working for them. They
just don't know how to read the signs that would tell them what
components are missing, or what is nearly impossible to make work. These
are not dumb people, it's simply that they have nothing to compare the
situation to, to make an educated evaluation of what is a good concept
and what is not.
Everyone tells their kids, pay attention in
school, read a book, go look it up. You need a good education to get
ahead. This is all good advise, but I see too many times where people
don't follow their own advice. It may seem expensive to buy certain
books on how to do things, but it's a lot more expensive not to.
Consider this:
-
...if you are looking for new ways make
your business grow;
-
...if you need to learn how to pay less
for advertising;
-
...if you need to be able to write a
decent sales letter;
-
...if you need to learn how to make your
own advertising make money;
-
...if you need to know how to get free
and low cost exposure;
-
...if you want to start your new
business on the right track;
-
...if you want to know if your business
concept is viable;
-
...if you want to be a successful
entrepreneur;
...then you need to invest in
yourself--you need to pay for specialized knowledge from someone
that has the experience to instruct you. Just like you have to pay
to go to college.
If you don't seek out this knowledge from a
reliable source, you are setting yourself up to pay for lessons the hard
way...lessons you pay for with costly mistakes. These are the most
expensive lessons, and you want to avoid as many as possible. Especially
when you're a young business and cash strapped.
You need to be right as many times as possible...and that is what my job
at the NMOA is all about. Helping you succeed in your business by
helping you become a better marketer and conceptual thinker.
During my 30+ year career I've created
hundreds of successful advertisements and written thousands of lines of
successful sales copy. I've been responsible for committing many
hundreds of thousands of dollars in ad placements, and almost always
paying less then the next guy. I've started businesses from scratch and
jump started them with free publicity and low cost marketing tactics.
I've had to turn nothing into something.
When it comes to the web, I've been able to
capture dozens of top slots in search engine rankings that have very
competitive keywords. And I don't use pay-per-click to do it, these are
natural rankings achieved through free and low cost tactics.
Now my job is to share my knowledge and hard
earned lessons with you through the NMOA, and I love doing it.
And that's why I'm writing you today, if you want to learn the above
things and more, you need one book today;

PS. My book is different than most you may have read. I'm a
practitioner of what I've written. I'm not a book author that researches
how to do something and then writes a book about it---like many of the
books you find in the bookstore. This book is full of lessons, examples,
and tactics I've learned and implemented over the years that has formed
the knowledgebase I draw from today. Now you can acquire this
knowledgebase too...if you take action and read it. Remember, if after
reading it you don't think it's one of the best educational investments
you've ever made, I want you to send it back for the full purchase
price...no questions asked. |
