  :: Special Report: SMB Infrastructure Management Strategies
  :: EDITOR'S NOTE ::                                   April 18, 2008
Smaller organizations should recognize that they, too, can benefit from virtualization technologies, perhaps even more so, in some ways, than larger companies, says Anil Miglani, senior vice president of AMI-Partners.

  :: THE BIG ISSUE ::
Virtualization Offers Flexibility for SMBs
Small and mid-sized businesses that may believe they are not candidates for the benefits of virtualization should re-evaluate their options, recommends Anil Miglani, senior vice president of AMI-Partners. Server, storage and PC virtualization are all appropriate for companies of all sizes, says Miglani, and may have a larger impact than they would in larger enterprises. SMBs once limited to one operating system on PCs are no longer constricted in that way. SMBs will need to keep in mind that a gradual roll out is necessary, partly because they may not have the skills in-house. Leading vendors like VMware, Microsoft and Citrix are now speaking directly to SMBs and channel support is available for initial implementations.
