BS 5440-1:2008 specifies requirements for the installation of gas appliances to chimneys, chimney installation and maintenance. It is applicable to open flue chimneys for Type B gas appliances and room-sealed chimney configurations for Type C gas appliances, each of rated input not exceeding 70 kW net family gases. |

BS 5839-1:2002+A2:2008 provides recommendations for the planning, design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems in and around buildings, other than dwellings. The code of practice has been simplified and recognition is made of new technologies and method of fire detection. |
