My friend Kevin's Mom gave him a copy of The Secret the other day. She swears by it, and claims it's changed her life, etc. He is humiliated, and yet, now stuck with this book he can't throw away. (A universal law of nature: Gifts from one's mother can not be thrown away. Talk about attracting bad luck.)
