Alas - it seemed to good to be true!
Unfortunately, our Richard Thompson Legacy Series show for April 13, has been postponed due to a scorpion sting that Richard received on his right hand while vacationing in Mexico.  The good news is, we've rescheduled for October!  All ticket holders will be contacted with details.

Joan Baez Autographed Guitar
To Celebrate Club Passim's 50th Anniversary, Ben & Jerry's Harvard Square has donated a beautiful 1970's Harmony Acoustic Guitar decorated by local artist Tabitha Fitzsimmons.  To commemorate the event Joan Baez signed the guitar during her visit to Cambridge where she played a very special concert celebrating not only Club Passim's 50th Anniversary, but also her 50th Anniversary as a performer.

Proceeds from the auction are being donated to Passim Folk Music & Cultural Center's Culture for Kids Program.  Culture for Kids, created by Club Passim in 1999, is a free, monthly, multicultural program whose goals are to provide children with exposure to other cultures and peoples. An emphasis is placed on children who may not have the benefit of cultural and artistic opportunities in their schools or communities.  For more info on the program go to http://www.clubpassim.org/cultureforkids/

Thank you Ben & Jerry's Harvard Square for your support!

Thursday 4/10 8pm: Jenee Halstead CD Release with Chatham County Line
Reg: $12/Member: $10
Jenee Halstead has that rare ability to write songs that sound fresh and new, as well as familiar and timeless.  In her music you can hear piedmont style blues guitar, delta blues riffs, beautiful open fingerpicking, and a voice that melds all the influences into one.  "Speed of the Whippoorwill" captures the live show excitement that Chatham County Line has honed on the road. It is through touring that the band has perfected their blend of instrumental prowess, harmony singing, and original composition.

Friday 4/11 8pm: John Hammond
Reg: $25/Member: $23
Since his 1962 self-titled debut, Hammond has made 31 records and tours year-round, learning from and playing with musical greats and friends including Tom Waits, Muddy Waters, and Michael Bloomfield. Those unparalleled experiences and authenticity shine through brightly on his latest album, "Push Comes to Shove."

Saturday 4/12 7pm: Christopher Williams CD Release
Reid MacLean opens
Reg: $15/Member: $13
We are proud to announce the release of Williams' new record, Sweet Redemption. A bit of a departure from his previous releases, yet still showcasing his heartfelt songwriting; Sweet Redemption brings to life the bluesy, more gospel side of Williams. Songs inspired by his hope infused trips to Africa and the frailty of life with the loss of his father this is a more real Williams.

Experiencing an April Verch show is like hopping a supersonic freight train from an old lumber camp in northern Ontario, across the wide open prairie, through the Appalachians, down the Mississippi to the Louisiana Bayou, across the sea to Brazil, France, the Scottish Highlands and back, with stops at Carnegie Hall and church thrown in for good measure.
