Pedagogy in Action will provide veteran teachers as well as those new to the profession additional teaching methods to add to their teaching toolbox. More than twenty-five methods are succinctly described including cooperative learning, gallery walk, game-based learning, interactive lectures, Socratic questioning, assessment, peer review, quantitative writing, role playing and others. The descriptions are written by practicing teachers and include tips for effectively using the technique, research on the learning impact and a set of sample activities. Visitors to the site will find more than 600 activities that span more than a dozen subject areas and more than 200 examples of research on learning. Resources can be easily browsed from the search page as they are grouped by subject, pedagogy and research topic.

This site from the National Runaway Switchboard is designed to help educate youth about alternatives to running away. The free downloadable curriculum includes fourteen modules that are intended “to build life skills; increase knowledge about runaway resources and prevention; educate about alternatives to running away; and encourage youth to access and seek help from trusted community members." The curriculum guide is intended for grades 6-12 and could be implemented in a number of ways. It includes more than forty interactive, youth-friendly activities on such topics as communication and listening, adolescent development, personal influences, peers, anger management, drugs and alcohol, roles and responsibilities, and more. There are also companion tools to supplement the curriculum, including the companion film, available online in QuickTime format.

Parents and teachers of young children will want to check out this site built especially with the very young set in mind. It features more than 200 games, activities and animations that will keep youngsters entertained for hours. The games are designed so that children may use them in a variety of ways as they navigate the site. There is no right or wrong way to use the activities allowing children to discover all the possibilities as they explore. Games include matching puzzles, numbers, concentration puzzles, record player, art gallery, paint, alphabet (French, English and Spanish), piano, jigsaw puzzles and many more. Included are coloring pages to print and a user’s guide for parents and teachers.
