Date: May 1, 2008
Time: 9:00 am PT/12:00 noon ET

Presenter: Cindi Howson, Founder, BIScorecard

To be successful with business intelligence, it takes more than a powerful BI tool or technical architecture. It takes quality data, executive level support, a strong business-IT partnership, and a culture that supports fact-based decision making. In this session, Cindi Howson highlights findings from her new book, Successful Business Intelligence: Secrets to Making BI a Killer App, on the state of the industry and how some companies have achieved exceptional success. The book includes case studies from seven leading companies and results from an industry survey. Webinar participants can benchmark where their BI deployment stands in relation to best in class BI companies and take proactive steps to bring greater success to their BI initiatives.

Attend this Webinar, and you will learn:

  • The state of BI adoption and success
  • What the most important technical and organizational aspects are that affect BI success
  • Who the ideal executive sponsor is and how to garner his or her support

New Monograph: The Unique Requirements of Product Data Quality

The majority of data quality software implementations have long been focused on customer data-more so than on other data domains, like product, financial, asset, location, and so on. The focus on customer data helps explain why most data quality software techniques-the most common being data standardization, verification, and matching-were originally designed for customer data whether built in-house by IT or built into a software vendor's tool. That's great for customer data, but not so good for other data domains. Customer-oriented data quality techniques and tools can be retrofitted to operate on other data domains, but with limited success. There's a need to redesign standard data quality techniques-and design new ones-that address the unique requirements of non-customer data domains, especially product data.
