MINI-INTERVIEWS WITH WAY AND DYRDEK IN THE SKATEBOARD MAG #50
Congratulations are in order! This month our friends at The Skateboard Mag are celebrating their 50th issue, and to mark the milestone they’ve sat down to chat with skateboarders that were in their very first issue, including Danny Way and Rob Dyrdek. Danny, who was on the cover of that premiere issue, talks about MegaRamp magnets and skating moon craters. Dyrdek, who had a mellow pushing photo in issue one, talks about his journey from $2 royalty checks to the mainstream fame he knows today.

Issue 50 of The Skateboard Mag is in shops now.
PROPS TO PALACE 5IVE FOR THE GREAT RGB WINDOW
The RGB pack, part of the Spring 2008 Skateboarding Collection, has been getting a bunch of hype on blogs and in shops since its release. Washington D.C.’s Palace 5ive, one of the east coast’s finest shops, got absolutely next level and created a custom, mechanical window to celebrate the unique pack. Via some amazing automated movements in the rafters (created with the help of DC's Jeff Pang), the four 100% colored shoes dip in and out of paint tins. Check out a short video clip of the window in action at dcshoes.com.

“Making this window with DC was like having a baby,” said Nick Barkley, Manager. Only without the 9 months of gaining weight, morning sickness and lamas class. Oh, and when you’re done you just have a really cool window display.”

Thanks to Palace 5ive for the amazing work… check out more info on the shop on their MySpace page by following this link.
ANOTHER SUPERCROSS PODIUM FOR MILLSAPS IN TORONTO
Millsaps, holeshot and the heat win.
Davi Millsaps has been chalking up supercross podiums all season, and last weekend in Toronto he marked up another one by taking third as the AMA Supercross Series headed to Canada for the only time this year.

The track in Toronto was downright heavy… somewhat moist soil turned the track into a rutted-out mess, with plenty of crashes happening all night. In his heat race Davi swept his way into another holeshot, and from there checked out to easily take the win and progress to the 20-lap main event.
At 6'0", Davi's size had to have been an advantage on Toronto's rough outdoor-style track.
After the gates dropped in the main Davi settled in near the front of the pack, and went on to enjoy a pretty heated back-and-forth battle with Andrew Short and K-Dub for the 2nd and 3rd place positions. Davi eventually slotted himself on about lap 14, taking 3rd place.

With another podium finish under his belt, Davi has climbed to 4th place in the overall 2008 standings. The AMA Supercross Series now returns south of the Canadian border for the Texas Supercross... stay tuned for a recap from that race. Go here for the full series schedule.
PASTRANA’S 199 LIVES OUT APRIL 16, 17
This spring DC’s Travis Pastrana is hitting the big screen with 199 Lives, a new documentary focused on his life. On April 16 and 17 the full length, high definition feature film will hit theaters nationwide for a very limited engagement.

Created by Gregg Godfrey, the same man who makes the out of control Nitro Circus movies, 199 Lives documents the relatively short and very full life of Travis. Amidst all the Gold medals, double backflips, world records, and international fame the 24 year old has endured plenty of hard times. The film covers it all, from his family ups and downs and getting his first bike in ’87 to his new madness on two wheels (and four with rally, for that matter).

The film has already gotten amazing reviews, including the win as “Best Action Sports Film” at the 2008 X-Dance Action Sports Film Festival held in Salt Lake City in early February.

Check out motocross.com/199lives for much more information, including a list of participating theaters and how to pre-buy your tickets (highly recommended), plus some special behind the scenes footage.

RAEWYN REID TAKES BEST TRICK AT CHICKEN JAM MAMMOTH
Miss Reid and her big ol' check.

Last weekend Raewyn Reid from the DC women’s am team took best trick at the Roxy Chicken Jam in Mammoth, CA. The win came thanks to a beautiful big backside 180 to boardslide half cab off on the 40-foot up-flat-down battleship box. She saw the opportunity towards the end of the competition: most girls were not doing very tech tricks on the mammoth sized feature, so Raewyn changed her strategy and attacked the battleship. For her efforts, she took $3000 home. Congrats, Raewyn!
