BBC EXPERTS ON THE GRAND NATIONAL
Clare Balding (BBC TV presenter)
I have covered the Grand National for 10 years but Saturday will be my first as lead presenter. I love doing it but it's frantic, you are literally running around from 8am until you are off air.

For the big race I'm going with Bewleys Berry. He ran well last year but he just didn't quite get round. I know that's a typical excuse but Hedgehunter managed to win after falling the year before, so I think Bewleys Berry has a good chance.

Here some of my BBC colleagues give their expert opinion on who they think will win the big race.

Jim McGrath (BBC TV lead commentator)
It would be a great story if Cloudy *** won it. He's been trained by Donald McCain, son of the legendary Ginger. Donald is relatively new to the game but he has handled Cloudy *** magnificently and the horse won impressively at Ayr and Doncaster.

Rishi Persad (BBC TV presenter)
I haven't backed the winner of the National since 1997 so I'm desperate to end my drought! This year my money is going on the David Pipe trained outsider Madison Du Berlais with some side bets on Simon, Willie Mullins's Snowy Morning and last year's fourth, Philson Run.

Mark Pougatch (BBC Radio 5 Live presenter)
Like Clare I'm going for Bewleys Berry. I remember West Tip winning the National in the 1980s after falling the year before at Becher's Brook. My selection did the same last year when moving so well, so I am hoping history will repeat itself.

Norman Williamson (Former jockey and BBC analyst)
Cloudy ***, the favourite, will take a lot of beating as he's been trained by the right people. Slim Pickings has a great chance too and Chelsea Harbour, another Irish horse, won the Grand National trial at Punchestown.
