Last Child in the Woods
Louv put a name to the phenomenon we all knew existed but
couldn't quite articulate: nature-deficit disorder. Publication of
Last Child in the Woods inspired creation of the
movement "Leave No Child Inside". Now with the updated and
expanded version of the book you will find field notes from the
author about this growing movement; a field guide with 100
activities to promote change in your community, school, and
family; and 35 discussion points to inspire people of all ages to
talk about the importance of nature in their lives.
Louv is the author of seven books. He is chairman of the
Children and Nature Network and has served as adviser to the
Ford Foundation's Leadership for a Changing World award
program. He has appeared on Today, Good Morning
America, NBC Nightly News, and NPR's Morning Edition
and Talk of the Nation.
