Earned Value Management Overview- May 28,
2008
This one-day executive course introduces the
fundamental business practices of project management, utilizing earned value
principles and methodologies. The one-day overview is designed to provide an
appreciation for the role of EVM within the Federal CPIC Management environment,
how it applies to Agency processes and people, and its impact on suppliers to
the Agency Programs.
Earned Value Management Baseline Planning- June
25, 2008
This one-day course introduces the fundamental objectives,
processes and importance of integrated baseline planning for EVM. The one-day
overview is designed to provide the essential aspects of Work Breakdown
Structure Development, integrated scheduling to support EVM planning, budgeting
concepts, and integration of performance measurement techniques. The EVM
Baseline Planning Overview course also provides a summary overview of the
objectives and processes involved in the ANSI-748 Integrated Baseline
Review.
EVM Reporting and Analysis Overview- July 23, 2008
This one-day course introduces the processes involved in operating
an integrated Earned Value Management project control system. The one-day
overview is designed to provide an appreciation for the mechanisms that produce
EVM data elements, the processes for summarizing and analyzing those elements
and the standard reporting formats that are unique in an EVM
environment.
Continuing Education
Each workshop is
recommended for 8 Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) toward DAWIA/FAC-C
requirements. A Government*Horizons Certificate of Completion will be provided
to all attendees upon conclusion of the
workshop.

William Mathis
Director, Affordability Management
Solutions
PRICE Systems, LLC
Bill Mathis is the Senior Director of
Federal Technology Programs in the Government Solutions Division. His
organization provides Affordability Management Solutions that integrate PRICE
Systems’ TruePlanning® tools, TrueMethods™ and a world-class team of consultants
and subject matter experts. His organization provides independent cost
estimating, program cost analysis, earned value management (EVM) and predictive
EVM to Government Agencies as well as their oversight stakeholders and industry
contractors.
Mr Mathis joined PRICE Systems in February 2003 to help develop
Washington DC Government Solutions operations. He has over 25 years experience
in Program and Portfolio cost, schedule and risk management experience. Bill has
expert-level knowledge in portfolio results-chain and benefits realization
techniques, earned value management, program scheduling, and life-cycle
cost/schedule risk management developed through service to numerous government
and commercial customers worldwide. He is regularly asked to speak on a range of
affordability management processes and techniques at government and industry
leadership forums. He is an active advisor to the Government Accountability
Office in the development of the recently released GAO Cost Assessment Guide.
Mr. Mathis is also an active participant in NDIA’s Civilian Agency / Industry
Earned Value Working Group, the Civilian Agency EVM Community of Interest, and
Project Management Institute College of Performance Management. He holds MS and
BSE Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University and MBA from
the University of Phoenix.
