Hey, hey, it's the Monkees! Here's everything you ever wanted to know
about the first of the manufactured bands that shocked the music
industry in the 60s by generating a slew of hit records including

producers placed an ad for actors to star in a new TV show about a
band clearly modeled on the Beatles, the four successful applicants
became stars in their own right. The Monkees sang their own songs, but
they didn't play their own instruments, even though that's the way it
looked on their TV show.

"Danger Will Robinson!" Our new series delves deep inside the popular

After Walt Disney World opened in Florida in 1971, millions of people
and billions of dollars poured into the area, making greater Orlando
America's favorite family vacation spot. But when the Disney
Corporation extended insurance and other benefits to same-sex partners
of employees, conservatives were outraged, and none more than Baptist
televangelist George Crossley. Well, until Crossley fell prey to his
own sexual temptation and a murder-for-hire scandal landed him in
jail. Paul Winfield narrates.

A look at notorious cases of barbaric or bizarre punishment of
prisoners. Includes: Henry Young, who was kept in the "Dark Hole" of

He was already an experienced film and TV actor when he was cast in
This Boy's Life. Leonardo was only 18 years old, but more than held

all-time, Titanic, he ascended to the top of the A list, a status he
continues to enjoy with lead roles in such high profile projects as

In 2007 Forbes Magazine declared Matt Damon the most bankable star in

8-9pm -- Notorious - 222 - Sins of a Priest: The John Geoghan Story
For three decades, Father John Geoghan molested over 140 children,
often going to the homes of poor, single mothers, gaining their trust,
and then visiting their children's bedrooms at night. This is the
shocking story of how the Archdiocese of Boston covered up the
priest's crimes, eventually leading to the downfall of Cardinal
Bernard Law, one of the most powerful men in the American Catholic
Church. After conviction, while serving his sentence, an inmate
strangled Geoghan to death.

9-10pm -- BIOGRAPHY(R) - Matthew McConaughey
He was on the way to becoming a lawyer when Matthew McConaughey picked
up the inspirational book, The Greatest Salesman in the World, and
decided his real future lay in screen acting. A chance meeting with a
casting director in an Austin bar secured his first real film role.
The casting director introduced him to director Richard Linklater who
gave McConaughey a role in his upcoming film, Dazed and Confused. More
roles followed but high-wattage performances in two 1996 movies, the
crime thriller Lone Star, and the film adaptation of John Grisham's
novel A Time to Kill made the young actor one of the industry's
hottest young leading men inspiring comparisons to actor Paul Newman.

10-11pm -- BIOGRAPHY(R) - Jude Law
Born to actor parents, Jude caught the bug early. In fact he started
acting at 12, and dropped out of school at 17 to star in a British
soap opera. Since then he's staked out a niche as both a character
actor and leading man. He's played a sadistic hit man (The Road to
Perdition), a Civil War soldier (Cold Mountain), a wheelchair-bound
athlete (Gattaca), even a robot gigolo (AI). And in 2004, he was named
People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive. Off-screen, he's had a busy
private life--including a marriage to actress Sadie Frost, with whom
he had three children. After their long drawn-out divorce, he had a
very public engagement to actress Sienna Miller... which was
interrupted by his affair with his kids' nanny.

10-11pm -- Haunted History - Haunted Atlanta
Despite continual renovation in the capital of the "New South",
Atlanta boasts many buildings dating back to the Civil War. On a
spirited tour of central Georgia, we visit five such venues, including
the Kennesaw House and an 1848 house in Marietta, which served as
hospitals in the Civil War. The first owners of former plantation
houses Lockerly Hall and Barnsley Gardens drop by for visits. And at
Andersonville, where 29,000 Union soldiers died in horrifying
conditions, many ghosts roam the grounds.

Profile of the Grammy Award-winning rapper, singer, model, and actress
who's been hip-hop's first lady, the face of Cover Girl, and an Oscar
nominee. Born Dana Elaine Owens, she was nicknamed Latifah, which
means "delicate and sensitive" in Arabic. She started her music career
as a human beat box alongside rap group Ladies Fresh, and her first
album at the age of 19 was a success. But her brother, Lance, was
killed in an accident involving the motorcycle she had bought him.
Emerging from her grief, Latifah's album "Black Reign" was dedicated
to her brother and was the first album by a female MC to ever go gold.
Latifah then branched into other media, starring on TV's Living Single
and in the hit movie musical Chicago.

Profile of the rock star who was born the daughter of a sharecropper
and overcame poverty, racism, and sexism to become one of the most
successful entertainers of all time. We'll look at all the dramatic

international fame and Grammies. Today, almost 50 years after she
first took the stage, her admirers include David Bowie, Eric Clapton,

On a rainy night in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, police are called to a
trucking yard where the body of a 6-year-old girl laying face down in
the mud rattles the most seasoned homicide detectives. Few clues are
left at the crime scene, and a mysterious marking left in the soft
ground is the only lead that police have to follow. The city residents
are overcome with fear for their children, which prompts an immense
response of tips from across the province. However, despite the
thousands of tips and leads that are processed, the investigation
enters its 10th year, and the police are no closer to finding the
killer. Finally, an officer unexpectedly finds the one clue that ties
a man by the name of Clifford Sleigh to the crime committed almost a

Green River Killer
In this special 100th edition of Cold Case Files, we look at the
biggest serial murder case in U.S. history - the 20-year hunt for the
Green River Killer. Dave Reichert, the detective who made finding the
killer his obsession, walks us through the case. He tells vivid,
sometimes harrowing stories about the murders, saying, "You never
forget the sight of a 16-year-old body lying on her back on the
riverbank with ligature around her neck." Reichert headed up two Green
River task forces until forensic DNA technology helped crack the case
and brought him face to face with the killer thought to be responsible
for 48 deaths.

7-8pm -- CITY CONFIDENTIAL(R) - 32 - Carlsbad: Danger in the Desert
The saga of popular politician and pharmacist Johnny Volpato, who was
accused of shooting his wife to death, then wounding himself to make
it appear that someone else had killed her. Volpato was eventually
acquitted, but opinions on the case's outcome still divide the city.
Narrated by Paul Winfield.

8-9pm -- Notorious - Cybersex Cop
Story of federal agent Don Daufenbach who used a secret name and
address to infiltrate Internet chat rooms and bust up a child
pornography ring.

9-10pm -- I Survived... - 03 - Lonnie/Rulon/Stanley
Lonnie plays dead for four agonizing hours after her boyfriend chokes
her and shoots her four times in the head. Rulon, a super-strong
Olympic wrestler, gets stuck in a semi-frozen stream when he goes
snowmobiling and faces a big decision -- should he wait to be rescued
or submerge himself in the freezing water to save his snowmobile and
find a way out? And when a wise-cracking federal prosecutor is
abducted by men with machine guns, he uses his unique talents and
personality to show rapport with his captors in hopes they'll release
him.

who ply their trade off the coast of Northeast Scotland face some of
the roughest and most deadly seas, spending up to two weeks at a time
in boats at sea with temperatures that regularly fall below freezing.
The last real hunters, fishermen also have lives, and families on
shore, but it doesn't make for a life of domestic bliss when one
parent is away for most of the time and the other has to hold the
family together. This new real-life series captures life in a
close-knit fishing community, and is packed with family tension, as
well as danger on the high seas.

The town of Barrington, Rhode Island is filled with fancy boutiques,
gourmet pet food shops, and vintage book stores, all catering to the
wealthy and well-educated. An upscale suburb of nearby Providence,
it's an ideal community where well-to-do families raise perfect kids.
But Barrington is also the place where, in September 1991, an
All-American family, the Brendels, vanished into thin air--until a
heavy rain revealed a shallow grave with three bodies in it. Narrated
by Paul Winfield.

8-9pm -- Notorious - 142 - Free To Murder Again
The notorious case of Kenneth McDuff, the most infamous sexual
predator in Texas history, who was sent to death row for three
murders, released because of prison overcrowding, and then raped and
killed two more women.

9-10pm -- BIOGRAPHY(R) - Dana Plato
Chronicles the tragic life of the Diff'rent Strokes star who died of a
drug overdose at 35. Born to an unwed, teenage mother, Plato was put
up for adoption. She appeared in her first TV ad when she was just 7,
and at age 14 she was hired for Diff'rent Strokes. Six years later she
was forced to leave the show when she became pregnant. Plato then
languished in the world of B-movies and even soft core pornography,
all the while struggling with an addiction to prescription drugs and
alcohol. Plato's rise and fall continues to have a haunting effect on
the culture of child celebrity in Hollywood.

10-11pm -- The Truth Behind the Sitcom Scandals - Gilligan's Island &
Diff'rent Strokes
Our new series delves deep inside the best sitcoms of all time, as
cast members recount the stories you've never heard before. First
we'll travel on the SS Minnow to Gilligan's Island, the classic 60's
comedy about seven castaways shipwrecked on an uncharted tropical
island. And next, we'll look behind-the-scenes at Diff'rent Strokes,
the popular 80's sitcom that tackled many social issues successfully
with humor, despite the real-life troubles of its three young stars.
