Happy Spring!
I love spring. OK I love every season :) But spring is great because it provides free dandelions for dandelion wine!! We have aged last year's dandelion wine for a full year, and are really looking forward to drinking it while we pick the dandelions this year.

If you've never made dandelion wine, prepare now! You only need a few simple supplies. Here are my photos and instructions from past years. That way when your dandelions pop up this spring, you'll be ready to turn them into free wine!

Think Green!
Are you thinking green this spring? Then drink local wines! The amount of gas and energy spent to transport each bottom from winery to destination is simply phenomenal. Here's a review of a Massachusetts winery for Mass residents - but the same logic applies no matter where you live!

Expos and Festivals
My favorite event of the year is coming up - the Nantucket Wine Festival!! The island is warm and gorgeous, the cherry blossoms are in bloom, the wines are superb and it is PEACEFUL. You really get to sit and talk with the winemakers while sipping your wine. The lunches and dinners are phenomenal. I love every aspect of this festival. Read through my notes from past years, and then get your reservations in for May 14-18 this year!

Random Thoughts
I'm heading out to Washington DC in a few weeks to write up the sights for my website. I'm always looking to try new restaurants with fun wine lists! If you know of one in the DC area, please let me know!

Also, I'm on a quest. The wine shop near me has their yellow Chartreuse pegged at $70/bottle. I adore yellow Chartreuse but isn't it supposed to be around $40/bottle? That is what I'd always seen at other wine shops. Can you send in to me what Chartreuse costs in your neck of the woods? I'm going to figure this anomaly out so my Chartreuse-drinking habits are not squashed!

Have a great spring!!
