  from Kyle Phillips
We took the dog, a small poodle, to have is hair clipped yesterday, and if he hadn't started wagging his tail at me when I went to pick him up I wouldn't have recognized him. A startling transformation from a little guy whose dreadlocks would do a Rastafarian proud to something really skinny with surprisingly long legs who looks for all the world like a black-nosed lamb with teeth. At least still barks.

There are other things too, including Limoncello...

1) Vittorio's Pollo alla Griglia
This is the grilled chicken Vittorio used to make for cookouts of Fiesole's Misericordia, a civic association. He marinated his chicken in olive oil and chopped herbs, to which I add lemon zest and lemon juice. People snatch it up.

2) Baking Pizza in a Wood-Fired Oven
One of the things that attracted me to the house we bought a few years ago was a wood-fired oven in the den (next to a large hearth). It took me a while to work up the courage to try it, but I can say the pizzas we had the other night were fantastic, and very easy to do. If you have room, think about putting in an oven!

3) Installing a Pizza Oven
Forno Bravo, a company that sells pizza ovens (and gives away plans if you'd rather go from scratch) is run by a friend of mine, who is quite passionate about baking. And, on this page, he shows how installing an oven will save you enough to send a kid to college (really!).
