At dcskateboarding.tv this week...
Back in the Day Colin McKay—another revival video clip, this one of a pre-teen Colin in the 7th Bones Brigade video, Propaganda.
French Footy—the French contingent of the European Collective (DC’s European skate team) delivered a bunch of skate footage to us recently. Check out the fresh clip to see what the boys have been up to.
WAY VIDEO CLIPS AT skatebook.tv
Our buds over at Skatebook have posted a few new video interviews with Danny Way on their site. The clips are a follow up to the big Danny Way / MegaRamping photo feature they did in their premiere issue. The three video clips cover how the MegaRamp concept came to be and what Danny believes is even possible on the huge structure.

Stay tuned… the second issue of Skatebook, this edition hardbound and guest-edited by Paul Sharpe, is due out soon. We’ll let you know when it hits shops!
DC ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FOR GRIND FOR LIFE
This week we’re please to announce DC’s support of Grind for Life, a nationwide organization that helps people with cancer.

Grind for Life was founded in 2003 by life-long skateboarder, Mike Rogers after his second battle with sarcoma cancer. As a teen, a tumor was discovered behind his right eye and nasal cavity. After beating cancer once, it relapsed 25 years later. He overcame it once again. He endured a 17-hour surgery that included a cranial-facial resection with a brain-lift, and removal of his eye, cheekbone, half of the roof of his mouth and some of his teeth. Mike beat the odds and remains an active professional skateboarder (now getting flow from DC), giving back to those affected by cancer through his organization, Grind for Life.

Using funds raised through skateboarding and skateboarding-related events, Grind for Life is an organization that provides financial assistance to cancer patients and their families who circumstantially must travel long distances to treat their condition. In addition, the organization educates and inspires patients and families through stories of cancer survival and recovery. Those who qualify receive financial assistance for travel, lodging expenses, meals, and personal needs.

DC has worked with Grind for Life once before. In January DC hosted the GFL High Ollie contest at the ASR Trade Expo in San Diego, giving $500 to the contest winner and $500 to the GFL organization.

For more information about Grind for Life and all the amazing things the organization does for people with cancer, please visit grindforlife.org.
CHAS 2ND, TORSTEIN 3RD IN BIG AIR AT US OPEN 2008
Chas Wins Best Trick Too!
Torstein.
Last weekend the US Open once again went down in Vermont, and DC riders represented well by taking two of the three podium spots in Big Air. Chas Guldemond took 2nd and his teammate Torstein Horgmo took 3rd, with Chas going on to take best trick honors as well with a backside 1260 melon.

Mother nature was less than kind for Saturday night's big air competition. The winds got gnarly, causing riders to be pushed down the landing, even sending one out onto the flats and straight to the hospital. The DC boys charged none-the-less, with highlights including Chas' backside 1260 melon (which won him best trick) and a front 10 from Torstein.
Sunny and pretty, but don't let that fool you. Conditions were downright heavy in VT.
Congrats to Chas and Torstein on the great finish... stay tuned to this DC Newsclip for more contest results and info on the DC snow team!
PASTRANA’S 199 LIVES DUE TO HIT THEATERS FOR LIMITED ENGAGEMENT
Look for it April 16-17 in a 400 Theaters Nationwide
This spring DC’s Travis Pastrana is hitting the big screen with 199 Lives, a new documentary focused on his life. On April 16 and 17 the full length, high definition feature film will hit theaters nationwide for a very limited engagement.

Created by Gregg Godfrey, the same man who makes the out of control Nitro Circus movies, 199 Lives documents the relatively short and very full life of Travis. Amidst all the Gold medals, double backflips, world records, and international fame the 24 year old has endured plenty of hard times. The film covers it all, from his family ups and downs and getting his first bike in ’87 to his new madness on two wheels (and four with rally, for that matter).
The film has already gotten amazing reviews, including the win as “Best Action Sports Film” at the 2008 X-Dance Action Sports Film Festival held in Salt Lake City in early February.

Check out motocross.com/199lives for much more information, including a list of participating theaters and how to pre-buy your tickets (highly recommended), plus some special behind the scenes footage.

Kingpin has come out with a very nice interview with Colin McKay. In it, Colin talks a lot about vert skateboarding, namely the big differences between competitive vert skating and his more-tech variety. He also covers what’s happening with the Vancouver skate scene these days and what’s next for Plan B and its diverse team. Go here to check out the interview.

DOUBLE DANIEL DHERS INTERVIEWS AT dcshoes.com

Last week we announced the addition of the young and obscenely talented Daniel Dhers to the DC BMX Team. This week we’re offering up two, yes two, interviews with him at dcshoes.com. The first, a video piece, mashes together new park riding footage of Daniel in Las Vegas with some video of him answering some random questions. The second, a full-length written interview, covers everything from Daniel’s Venezuela upbringing to where his real passions lie these days. Go here for the video interview. Two weeks ago we kicked off another DC giveaway, this one offering five signed and personalized copies of Subaru Rally Team USA’s new book, entitled 2006: A Retrospective in Photos. We selected five winners (at random) from whoever could answer the follow trivia question correctly:
