NEW WENNING TRICKTIP
Wenning's alway one to don weird masks, even in "standard" tricktips.
Check out DC's site for a new tricktip from Brian Wenning. Wenning and his boy Dario mailed us the edited tricktip this week, and we decided to post it as-is on the site. This time he’s teaching switch backside smith grinds (we all know Wenning’s got his switch tricks on lock, so this is probably a good one to watch).

If you haven’t figured it out yet, this tricktip and all of DC’s skateboarding videos are available for free download and embedding… just flip over the video after you’re done watching it and download it, send it, or, for you blogger-types, embed it in your personal one.

Follow this link for switch bs smiths with Wenning.
WHAT’S GOOD AT DCSKATEBOARDING.TV THIS WEEK

Gee Gallery—the East Coast photog has posted a new gallery with a few of his favorite photos from over the years. The compilation of snaps features Dyrdek, Kalis, Wenning, and others.

Photos from Florida—last week PJ, Gallant, Smith (pictured), and Wenning were bouncing all over the Sunshine State for a series of signings. The galleries cover what went down as the boys hit some of FL’s finest skate shops.
DANIEL DHERS JOINS THE DC BMX TEAM
This week DC is proud to announce the addition of Daniel Dhers to the elite DC BMX team. Visit dcshoes.com for information on the young Venezuelan contest phenom, including an assortment of photos.

About being added to the team, Daniel said, "Being on DC is a crazy experience. I'm good friends with everyone on the team and I'm so excited and happy to have the opportunity to ride for a brand that I really believe in. We have an opportunity to do some great things together in the future."

Some riders hit the BMX scene and surprise everyone; Daniel straight up exploded onto the scene. Growing up in Venezuela, his riding was disrupted by skate park closures, family moves, and other distractions as a youngster. In response, Daniel made the trek north to Woodward Camp in Pennsylvania in 2004 in search of an atmosphere more conducive to BMX riding. After two summers learning in the foam pits, resin ramps, and terrain at Camp he hit the Park contest circuit in 2006, instantly finding success. Three Dew Tour podiums, a Bronze medal at X Games 12, and a Bronze at Asian X was followed by more Dew Tour podiums, a Gold at X Games 13, and a Gold at 2007’s Asian X. Daniel has become an instant contest threat.

His feats are even more amazing considering he was nearly blind for those two years. Doctors diagnosed him with poor eyesight late in 2007, a condition Daniel was unaware of. Now sporting contact lenses and 20/20 vision, Daniel is primed and ready for the 2008 contest season. Look for him at AST Dew Tour stops and Summer X Games later this year.

Besides DC shoes and apparel, Daniel is sponsored by Red Bull, POC Helmets, Albe's, Team Blowin' it, and Woodward Camp.

BIITTNER SERVES UP MTN.LAB UPDATE

DC’s MTN.LAB in Utah is private and exclusive, meaning it’s off limits to most except the lucky few. Admittance may be restricted, but this week Aaron Biittner does the next best thing by personally delivering you a MTN.LAB update, now live at www.snowboardermag.com. In the short article he covers a typical day at the LAB: snacks, chillin’, and, of course, plenty of riding. You’re also hooked up with a few riding shots of Biittner sessioning the LAB’s expansive 22-acre private park… front 3’s, missile jibs, and fun in the trees. Go here.

JOSH HILL WINS HIS FIRST SUPERCROSS!
18 years old and a SX win... gotta feel good.

With all-over-the-board finishes so far in 2008, DC’s Josh Hill has narrowly missed the top podium spot twice. Last weekend at the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the young 18 year old put all the pieces together and won his first-ever AMA supercross race!

After working his way through Heat 1, Josh was ready to do work as the gates dropped in front of 40,000 fans for the main event. He came out of the first turn in 2nd place, and by the fourth lap he had made the pass for the lead. He began to put space between himself and the rest of the field, but a charging Chad Reed nearly caught up to him on lap 8. Josh’s speed proved to be too much though… Chad went down, allowing Josh to check out and take the checkered.

“Man, I can't really put it into words right now,” Josh said immediately afterwards. “I've been dreaming about this since I was five or six years old. Now that it's become a reality, it's crazy! It hasn't quite sunk in yet."

Congratulations, Josh! Check out Racer X’s Monday Conversation with Josh to get some more of his thoughts on his win last weekend at the Metrodome… go here.
