Keep Vista from Adding "Shortcut" to Shortcuts

A reader writes:

"Whenever I create a desktop shortcut to a folder or a file, Vista appends a hyphen and the word "Shortcut" to its title or label, as if the superimposed arrow graphic were not enough of a clue. I think I remember your describing in an earlier column how to tweak the Registry so that any shortcut's title or label merely repeated the original object's title or label, without also adding the unnecessary phrase. How can I do this in Vista?"
