Denver Doings
Spring has sprung for some of us, at least

Wow, what a really springy day we're having! Hey, you know what the best way is to celebrate such warm weather? Yep, it's immediately heading inside once you've finished with work. Obviously.

The big event of the evening would have to be the action in the center of town. That's where you'll find the King Center Recital Hall on Auraria Campus, and the Junior Recital of Ted Hummel, playing classical guitar at 6:30 p.m.

Interestingly enough, there is a stringed instrument called the “hummel.” It's a Swedish instrument from the Middle Ages, and a possible precursor to the zither. “Hummel” means “bee” in German, which may be the origin of the name of the instrument; the accompaniment strings make a droning sound like a bee's buzzing. So does this mean we'll be treated to a recital by Bill Guitar playing classical hummel soon? Well, probably not.

But do keep an eye out for the Hummel figurine playing the hummel. Also known as “The Littlest Metacognitive,” such a rare statuette is worth big bank on eBay!

Meanwhile, a much less impressive event is going on at the Pepsi Center today. Well, it certainly is less impressive if you're a fan of Temple, who have already been bounced from the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament and now has a bit of time to spend in Denver playing the tourist. The kids from Pitt and Oral Roberts are, right now, trying to figure out who could use a pick-me-up this evening, and fans from Notre Dame, George Mason, Washington State and Winthrop (remember where it is, kids?) are all champing at the bit, waiting for this evening. But there can't be too many of those, not when you could go to the King Center Recital Hall tonight!

So, big fun for everyone! Take it easy, and thanks for reading!
