Safety in the Sky
Last week, "Nightline" set out to cover the all-too-rare success story of Southwest Airlines and their CEO Gary Kelly. Then, on March 7, the Federal Aviation Administration announced it was proposing the largest fine ever imposed against a passenger airline against Southwest for failing to do required safety checks on its older aircraft. Tonight, "Nightline" reports on Southwest and Kelly, who yesterday announced that three employees will be placed on administrative leave as part of the airline's response to the FAA investigations. One-term New York Governer Eliot Spitzer, known as tough on crime and corruption, stepped down from his post this morning after a federal investigation of his financial activity revealed that he was the client of a prostitution ring. Tonight, we'll bring you the latest analysis of this bombshell scandal.
