Elizabeth Canterbury is a rebellious female defense attorney who's willing to bend the law in order to protect the wrongfully accused. Haunted by the disappearance of their young son, Elizabeth and her husband Matt Furey (recurring guest star Aidan Quinn) take on new professional challenges in their hometown of Providence, Rhode Island. Elizabeth forms her own law firm and finds herself working alongside Russell Krauss (Ben Shenkman), Chester Grant (Keith Robinson), and Molly McConnell (Trieste Kelly Dunn).
