The Slinky Paradigm:
How One Science Teacher (Eventually) Created Another

A former student writes: "He made the material, and his students, feel important and, hey, when you're talking about fundamental issues in the universe, it isn't always easy to make an individual student feel significant. It was a gift he gave each of us."

    Paul Young’s Young @ Heart
Becoming a Principal Is Like Learning to Swim All Over Again
Paul Young writes: "As a young boy, I remember being very afraid of the water. It took lots of encouragement from several trusted teachers before I eventually jumped into the pool.” Learning to swim is an excellent analogy for the mentoring of new principals, Young goes on to say in this column. A mentor can make the difference between a new principal sinking like a rock or flying like a fish.

Preserving the priceless moments and toothless smiles of young children, who often won't recall much of what occurs in their early years, is the admirable goal of the hardworking advisors, parents, and students who make these yearbooks a reality.
