Dads get scruffy for fundraiser
Facial hair is sprouting at Roosevelt Elementary School, as dads and even moms and students participate in its first Moustache-A-Thon.
Event celebrates author Dr. Seuss
Seniors at the Olympia Senior Center spent Monday morning reading to preschoolers from Olympia Early Learning Center to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday. In addition, students made bookmarks and bracelets, and each child selected a Dr. Seuss book, donated by the South Sound Reading Foundation. The event was part of Read Across America day, in which schools around the country organize reading events. Continue the celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday with a storytelling event at 11 a.m. Friday at Lacey Timberland Regional Library. Storyteller and performer Christopher Leebrick of Oregon will read Dr. Seuss stories, as well as tales from his own repertoire.
