EUROPEAN VACATION: FOOTAGE OF THE DC EURO SKATE TEAM
Over the last week we’ve hosted the DC Europe Skate team here in Southern California. Despite off and on rain all week, the crew managed to dodge the drizzle enough to get a few clips, and we’ve compiled them in a short new video piece at dcskateboarding.tv… Josh Kalis even tagged along with the Euros to show them a thing or two. Follow this link.

Besides the video clip listed above, we also posted blogs throughout the week to keep everyone updated on their European vacation to So Cal. Check out photos and a video clip or two in the blog section.
REGGIE McKAY HANDLES THE DC T.F.
Colin McKay’s miniature pincher, Reggie runs the show when he’s in the mix. We’ve posted a new video clip at dcskateboarding.tv that shows Reggie handling things on a typical day at the DC Vista Training Facility. Go here to watch.
DAVI MILLSAPS WINS ATLANTA SUPERCROSS!
Davi Millsaps’ first-ever win in the 450 class came last weekend as the AMA Supercross series rolled into Atlanta, GA. The win is extra sweet as he did it in front of a massive hometown crowd of 67,000-plus fans… his home base is just down the road in Cairo, GA, so the crowd was nuts for hometown- hero Davi.
Not 100% in shape? Could've fooled us.
Davi’s been all over podiums so far this season, just missing out constantly on taking the top position on the box… recent editorials and race recaps have claimed that Davi has what it takes to win in the SX class. In Atlanta he pulled things together. He took 2nd place in Heat 2, enough to progress to the Main. After the gates dropped in the Main Davi emerged from the first turn in 2nd place, just behind Chad Reed. On lap 2 the stadium erupted as Davi went for the pass through the whoops! But, he just missed the takeover. Davi stayed on Chad’s rear fender, constantly pushing him until he forced Chad to make a mistake and crash on the sixth lap. From there Davi checked out, fighting off the rest of the field and maintaining a four to seven second lead for the remainder of the 20 lap main.
Wins are always good, but they're extra sweet when they're your first in a new class and they come in front of your hometown crowd.
"My stomach started cramping a little bit but I stuck it out and I did the whole 20 laps," said Davi, alluding to the fact that he’s still not in 100% great shape since his injury last year. "I want to carry this momentum into Indy next week."

Like Davi said, the AMA Supercross packs up and hits Indianapolis, Indiana next week. Congratulations Davi on your first 450cc win!
SUBARU GIVES EXCLUSIVE LOOK AT THE 2006 SEASON IN NEW BOOK, OUT NOW!
Get a photographic look at the epic season shared by Travis Pastrana and Ken Block in the new book from Subaru Rally Team USA, entitled 2006: A Retrospective in Photos. Presented as an event-by-event, insider’s view of the amazing year that saw SRT USA dominate the rally circuit, the book is even more special considering it was just their second full year racing rally!

By any standards, 2006 truly was an incredible year for SRT USA. At its culmination, Travis took the Rally America National Championship with Ken finishing on his heels in 2nd place. On top of that, Rally Car Racing made its debut that year at X Games 12 with Travis taking Gold and Ken the Bronze. Finally, Ken jumped his Subaru rally car a mind-blowing 171 feet for the Discovery Channel program ‘Stunt Junkies’. Indeed, a banner year.
The book provides a glimpse at some of the most memorable moments from that year. It was 12 months filled with action. Crashes. Triumphs. Rolled cars. Medals. And nonstop excitement as we Americans began to take notice of the rally world, a sport that’s stayed relatively underground stateside until the last few years.

Ken noted, “This book is a great way to celebrate 2006, an amazing year for our team. The photography is great and the book is very well put together. It’s a great piece of history and a must-buy for anyone that’s a fan of rally, Travis or me.”

The book is currently available for $29.95 at Subaru dealers nationwide, and in the DC Online Store. Follow this link for more.

BLOCK AND PASTRANA OWN 100 ACRE WOOD!
Go 1-2 Respectively
Ken likes those Missouri roads so much he just may have to move there!

Ken Block must really like Missouri! Last weekend he proved dominance at the state’s 100 Acre Wood Rally, round two of the 2008 Rally America National Championship, taking the win there for the third straight year. His teammate Travis Pastrana was hot on his heels, taking 2nd place.

100 Acre Wood is one of the fastest courses on the circuit as gravel roads flow through trees and blind corners and crests… commitment is a prerequisite here. This year’s event saw sleet, below freezing temperatures, and chilly rain in the days leading up to the start, making the roads icy and even more treacherous.

Pastrana looked solid, and the great finish gave him needed points as he aims at his 3rd straight National Championship.

While most of the competitors were struggling with the gnarly conditions—spinouts, crashes, flats, and mechanical issues—Ken seemed to just settle in. Ken looked confident as he charged on the roads he’s become familiar with, as he bagged wins there for the last two years. Travis stayed within striking distance for most of the rally, but just couldn’t seem to close the gap to less than 30 seconds.

The racing was nearly flawless for Ken and Travis, but both drivers experienced flat tires on the second day. However by that time, they had amassed such a huge lead that the setbacks were inconsequential to the final results. Ken finished one minute ahead of Travis, and Travis finished three and a half minutes ahead of third place. Now that’s dominance!

Make that three straight for Ken in Missouri.

The win gives Ken the early lead in the still-young 2008 Rally America National Championship. But, there’s still a lot of racing to be done as the series continues in mid-April for the Olympus Rally.

As with every rally, SRT USA has posted detailed daily blogs and lots of photos on their site. Go here to check everything out.
