BS EN 60825-1:2007 Safety of laser products. Equipment classification and requirements is applicable to the safety of laser products emitting laser radiation in the wavelength range 180 nm to 1 mm. Its primary aim is to provide a classification scheme to assist users of laser products make informed decisions regarding the risks associated with intentional and unintended exposure to laser radiation.

In addition to covering requirements for products, the use of correct marking of laser products and systems is also covered, by the Health and Safety at Work etc Act. Therefore, businesses using lasers or laser products in the workplace must comply with BS EN 60825-1 in order to show due diligence.

BS EN 12952 specifies the requirements for limiters (or limiting devices) which are incorporated into safety systems for water-tube boilers as defined in EN 12952-1. The design requirements and examination of functional capability for the limiters are also covered. The types of limiters which shall be fitted to boilers are specified in BS EN 12952-7 and the design of the safety systems are specified in BS EN 50156-1 .

Flammable gas detection apparatus may be used whenever there is the possibility of a hazard to life or property caused by the accumulation of a flammable gas-air mixture.

BS EN 60079-29-2 gives guidance on, and recommended practice for, the selection, installation, safe use and maintenance of electrically operated group II apparatus intended for use in industrial and commercial safety applications for the detection and measurement of flammable gases complying with the requirements of
BS EN 60079-29-1.
