Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf.
Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf.
In today's lead news story, Pakistani opposition parties have collectively amassed the majority of seats in the nation's "relatively peaceful" parliamentary elections despite international monitors' concerns over election rigging. The decisive vote follows President Musharraf's November 2007 imposition of a state of emergency, his much-contested November 2007 election as president, and his dismissal and arrest of several Supreme Court judges.
