On ReadWriteWeb, Marshall Kirkpatrick compares several of the techniques you can use to identify top bloggers in any niche. Some of the methods -- such as using Technorati and social bookmarking sites -- are fairly intuitive, while others -- such as using AideRSS -- might not be on your radar yet. Kirkpatrick weighs the pros and cons of each platform, which will make it easier for you to find the one that best suits your needs.

Marketing via podcasts -- whether you're creating your own podcast or sponsoring a standing series -- is a great way to reach a highly engaged audience. In the case of producing a podcast for your company, providing a source for your customers to opt-in to get information from your organization is just one of many ways to keep the two-way conversation going.

On the Freakonomics blog, a group of professors, professionals, and other big thinkers -- including Martin Baily, Danah Boyd, Steve Chazin, Judith Donath, Nicole Ellison, and William Reader -- present their opinions on how online social networking sites are impacting our society from economic, psychological, and sociological perspectives.

In his Marketing Profs Daily Fix article, Jim Kukral suggests that journalists and marketers alike are reluctant to embrace online video because of the way the format is shaking up the established modes of information dissemination. Kukral argues that the move toward formats like online video mark a clear move away from long-form journalism, and that this transition is having an effect on communications across the board.

This podcast is a great primer for anyone looking to get started with online video as a way to generate online buzz. It covers the nuts and bolts -- from how to embed your videos on your blog to video platforms you can use -- as well as some case studies and examples of online videos that have worked.
