Chintamani Rao has joined Times Global Broadcasting Company Ltd as CEO, replacing Sunil Lulla, who was associated with the venture since its inception. Rao said that the challenge of a market leader was different and that he was already looking forward to the road ahead at Times Global, which also had a business news channel on the cards.

Reliance ADAG’s Big TV all set for March-2008 launch

Reliance ADA Group’s Big TV is reportedly slated to commercially go on air in late March 2008, though some Reliance employees are already using the service. The channel claims to have 86 channels on air right now, with 64 expected to come on board over the next couple of weeks. DD, STAR, Sony, Zee and NDTV channels are on-board already.

Rajesh Sundaram, former Head of Domestic News at News X, has sent a legal notice to INX News recently, alleging forgery of his resignation letter. He has also sent a copy of the notice to Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi. Avirook Sen, former Executive Editor of INX News, has also sent a legal notice alleging “fraudulent termination of contract and defamation”.

The real estate marketing player, which currently has operations in Western India, is looking at a pan-India presence in addition to spreading its wings overseas. Santosh Naik, CEO, Disha Direct, said that his company had earmarked an ad budget of Rs 40 crore for the year ahead for this.
