    Chamber Members to Participate in Stimulus Bill Signing
    A U.S. Chamber delegation of 30 small- and medium-sized business owners will be on hand when President Bush signs into law a two-year, $168 billion economic stimulus bill on February 13 at the White House. The Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 provides immediate investment incentives for small businesses and tax rebates for individuals as early as May.

    Labor Proposes Changes to FMLA Regulations
    The Department of Labor has proposed new rules to clear up ambiguities in regulations implementing the Family Medical Leave Act, including requiring employees to give more advance notice when they are taking leave. The new rules would also require employees with serious medical conditions to provide more frequent medical certifications.

    Addressing Forced Labor

    Co-hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, this premier event will concentrate on how global businesses are being impacted by forced labor. It will also look at employer-based solutions for eradicating this problem. The one-day conference will be held at Coca-Cola Company headquarters, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is free of charge but you must register.
