OLE' OLAY FOR YOUR SKIN
We've always had a problem with dry skin, even with a furnace mounted
humidifier, and various lotions we've tried. We found the most success
with a certain middle priced brand available at grocery stores. But in a
hunt for more relief, I came across a Consumer Reports article on "wrinkle
creams." Now don't stop reading yet. After reading lots of positive
feedback & reviews of Olay's Regenerist line, I decided to give it a try.
It was amazing. I bought one product and was so pleased with the results,
that I bought several more of their products. It is so nice to find a
product that works as advertised. I don't know what "magic" is in these
little bottles, but it instantly made my skin feel soft, kept it softer
longer, and definitely diminished little lines & wrinkles. I could tell a
difference the first time and have only seen continued improvement with
ongoing use. I was so impressed with the facial products that I decided
to give their body lotion line, Olay Quench, a try. Same great results.
Now I know that the price for the products is at the higher end for
grocery/drug store products, but I'd say that I'm able to use about half
as much (or in some cases less) product to do the same job. So I think
it'll probably end up costing about the same or less to use than the
middle priced brands. They also have a lot of sales where you can stock
up at significant discounts, or get rebates. So watch the papers closely
and give it a try. You can also read more about their products at...
www.olay.com Let me know if it works for you. POST IT...on your shopping
list.

GIRL SCOUT COOKIES' CALORIE COUNT
We love to help the little girls in green, but some of us are trying to
watch what we eat and feed to our children. So here's a rundown for the
calories in a single cookie, of each kind, from least number of calories
to most... Trefoils-30, Thin Mints-37.5, All Abouts-50, Chocolate
Chip-53.5, Dosidos-55, Tagalongs and Samoas-75, Lemon Chalet Creams-80. So
try to buy the cookie lowest in calories, eat them wisely, or give them
away. POST IT...by your front door for when they come a knocking.

YELLOW BRACELET WARNING
If you wear any of those rubber bracelets for various causes, be sure to
remove them if you are going into the hospital or admitted. Many
hospitals use colored bracelets for things like Do Not Resuscitate orders.
In other words, if your heart stopped, they might not try to start it
again. Many hospitals use the yellow ones in particular. So be careful
if you wear a bracelet & make sure your family/friends know to remove it
if you are unconscious & heading into the hospital. Better safe than
sorry. POST IT...with your bracelet.

JUMPY CAMERA SHOTS IN MOVIES
Guess that we have come full circle. It used to be that directors did
everything they could to avoid jumpy camera shots. They even developed a
special hand carried camera that balanced itself to avoid jumpiness. Now
it seems that many directors are looking at jumpiness as artistic. It
probably started with the "Blair Witch Project" and has continued with
"Cloverfield," and even TV movies like "10.5," which liked to zoom in &
out in stages constantly. Recent reports had people getting sick in the
theatres, asking for ticket refunds, and they even added a warning to the
beginning of the movie. So, if you're not the only one who finds this
type of camera maneuvering to be nauseating, here's a way to find out
BEFORE you go to the movies if there is a problem like this. First, avoid
seeing a movie the first week it's open; that will give time for the word
to get out if there are problems. Then go to... www.screenit.com Scroll
down to the bottom and click on "No Thanks," unless you want to subscribe,
then on "Movies," and find the movie you are interested in. The only
difference is that you won't be able to access movie reviews until they've
been out a week. In the reviews, it will usually mention if there is
motion like this. You can also go to... www.imdb.com
Enter the movie name in the search box, join for free, and then read
comments people have left. Normally the info on these sites will not give
away the story, or they will say, "Spoiler" before they have info like
that. If you just REALLY want to go see a movie like this, then know
that the bigger the screen and the closer you sit the worse the nausea may
be. So try to find a smaller screen and sit as far away from it as
possible. Or even better wait until it is available in DVD & watch it on
a small screen. POST IT...in the yellow pages under "theatres."

RECIPE: COUNTRY STEAK EASY
Take round steak (or your favorite inexpensive beef cut), cut into serving
pieces. Season with a sprinkling of steak seasoning, garlic powder, and
meat tenderizer. Let sit for about 30 min. Then brown in a pan sprayed
with non-stick spray. After browning, add 1 can of Campbell's Healthy
Request Cream of Mushroom soup on top of meat. Then fill the empty soup
can with water & pour over soup & meat. Mix soup & water lightly with a
fork. Once liquid starts to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 1 1/2 - 2
hours depending on thickness/toughness of meat. Usually you'll end up
with very tender Country Steak, and ready-made 98% fat free gravy in the
pan. Add a can of drained mushrooms to the gravy when the meat is
removed, if you'd like. POST IT...in your recipe box.
