Technique Tips
Alternating Deltoid Press to the Front
The deltoid is used to push the arm straight forward from the chest. Abdominals must engage as you execute this move to avoid the torso from twisting or rotating. Everything from your hips to your shoulders should be squared to the front as you push front with the arm.
Layout
This movement is performed in standing abdominal routines. Tip your torso forward to a flat back while simultaneously lifting one leg behind. You should be in a flat layed out position with your arms over your head and your leg extending. As you tip, the abdominals must contract and pull in to support your body.

Rev Up Your Workout with Music
Source: NY Times
Research has shown that listening to music during a workout has positive benefits. It not only motivates people so they exercise for longer periods and more vigorously, but also distracts from such things as fatigue. One of the key elements that make music motivating is the songs tempo, 120 to 140 beats-per-minute. This corresponds roughly to a persons heart rate during an average workout and is the range of most commercial dance music and rock. The best workout songs have both a high B.P.M. count and a rhythm to which you can coordinate and match your movements.
