Yo, HJ Games EditorYo & Co. Predict the 'Bowl
NFL Playoff Simulations 8 For 10 So Far

"Yo" Snyder, HJ's Games Editor, sat down with with his good buddy Ryan to play their final simulation of this year's playoffs on Madden 2008.

So who are they predicting to win the Super Bowl? Well, they're eight out of ten so far in their predictions based on Madden simulations, so their results may be as close as you'll get to knowing ahead of time how today's big game will turn out. Click through to see how things unfolded in their simulation...

Also this week, we're launching a special series on the spirituality of sports called "Of Thrill and Victory."  We'll be talking about upcoming movies like Will Ferrell's Semi-Pro (Feb. 29) and George Clooney's Leatherheads (April 4), but we'll mainly be examining the ways in which sporting events can nourish -- or damage -- the soul.  Be sure to check back often for new articles...

Lost Keeps Giving & Fans Keep Receiving
Matt Hill, Senior Writer

I'm still obsessed with it. By the time last Thursday rolled around -- the day that Season 4 premiered -- I and many of my co-workers, friends, and family were referring to the day as "Lost Day." On "Lost Day," we spoke mainly of Lost, made sure not to call each others' houses in the evening (Lost is back, you heathen!), and we visited sites like thefuselage.com before airtime to brush up on the latest Lost theories and speculation... well, at least I did.

The day after? Just as bad. All of us, basking in the post-Lost
glow like worshipers fresh from church, did more talking, more theorizing, more speculating, more "Wow, did you see the part where..." "You know what I think it is?" "Man, Lost is still cool..."

We may as well be saying, "What a mighty God we serve!" And yeah, it makes me a little uncomfortable-this obsessive, cult-like devotion to just a TV show...

The Week in Movies

When Spirits Descend
Elisabeth Leitch
Human stupidity may be a doozy. The universe may very well have one wicked sense of humor. But when it comes to the uphill battle that is life, Over Her Dead Body makes us at least ponder the idea that there may be more intentional hands at work as well.

The Sweetness and Pain of Life
Darrel Manson
On the most basic level, this is a women's movie. (I don't mean to denigrate the film at all by that categorization.) There is also a deeper meaning that both men and women could benefit from. The women of Layal's salon are indeed a model.

Emotional Road to a Back Alley
Darrel Manson
The real power of this film is not in its treatment of abortion, but in the focus on the characters and the predicaments they face because of where they are and what they are doing. We have no idea where the roads we choose to follow will lead us.

Why is there a review in Hollywood Jesus for a book that won the 2008 Caldecott Medal (best drawings in a picture book for children)? It's a great question that deserves a great answer.

This cartoon, like all great films, simply asks the question and sets the premise for discussion. Although I wasn't exactly entertained by the show itself, I was most certainly interested in what it had to say.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Off The Charts!

Uncharted takes us, willingly, into familiar territory that we've experienced with other games... it just does it with a bit more style and visual class that we can only see from a next-gen console.
