This weekend I saw a movie with some girlfriends from church. It was a definitive "chick-flick," and no surprise that out of about 40 people there, only one was a man.

When I think about definitive male events, hunting and football come to mind. I know many women who enjoy watching football (my mother loved it), but it’s really a man’s sport. Think about it. Two groups of grown men standing nose to nose, waiting for the signal to crush their opponents. The goal? Getting a piece of leather over a line in the grass.

This weekend is the ultimate game: the Super Bowl. I’m going to a party at a friend’s house. We’ll watch the game, check out the commercials, and eat. After about 20 minutes, I’ll look for some other form of entertainment: a book, a movie, or a puzzle.

Men, if the women in your life are like me, I have a suggestion for you. Give them the Love Comes Softly series to watch during the game.
