a humanitarian disaster, a leading international charity warned world
leaders today, as another report said six years of international
engagement was under threat and the country was at a crossroads.

jungle town of Orellana in Peru have filed a complaint against a
logging company for using their identity documents to commit tax
fraud in illegal timber sales worth more than $200,000.

90,000 CHADIANS TO RETURN HOME

(30 jan 2008) Chadian President Idriss Deby has affirmed that nearly
half of the 180,000 displaced people in Chad will return to their
homes by July. Local and UN officials believe this may be possible if

PEACE ICON’S ASHES SCATTERED AT SEA

(31 jan 2008) As India paid its homage to Mahatma Gandhi on January
30, the 60th anniversary of his assassination, his
great-granddaughter poured his ashes into the Arabian Sea off Mumbai.
Gandhi was shot dead on January 30, 1948 at a prayer meeting in New
Delhi.

Afghanistan owing to armed conflicts over the last two decades. Food,
