UGANDAN REBEL LEADER'S DEATH THREATENS PEACE

Lord's Resistance Army, Vincent Otti, is confirmed dead. Observers
maintain that Otti's absence will pose a serious obstacle to peace
talks launched Monday between the rebel groups and the Ugandan
government.

secretary-general Kofi Annan due to take place in Kenya today, an MP
of the Orange Democratic Movement was shot dead and two Kenyan

FOOD IS GETTING BEYOND REACH FOR BANGLADESHI POOR DUE TO SKYROCKETING PRICES

to buy food. The increase in wages across sectors over last year is
disproportionate to the overall rise in food prices, which have
increased by 27% in last four months alone. Recurring floods and

BANGLADESH DOLPHINS ARE NOT BREATHING EASY

of extinction due to over-fishing, shortage of prey, pollution, etc.
Efforts are now being made to protect them by monitoring salinity
levels of rivers and preventing accidental killings of dolphins by
fishermen.
