he
euphoria of entering a New Year is over: the Airtels
and the Vodafones have gone laughing to the bank courtesy
the zillions of SMS greetings that traversed their networks.
We took our time this year with our annual year-beginning
property REWIND. We just wanted to make sure it is better
than the last time. As we look forward to 2008, it may
be worth our while to turn the clock back to review
2007. There is no gainsaying that 2007 was a great year:
the economy hit double-digit growth in most months,
FDI inflows and reserves hit record levels, marketers
struck the usual pot of gold in the festive season,
the media grew healthily across all platforms... The
world has taken serious note of the emerging economic
power that India is today. Let’s inspire ourselves
with the achievements of 2007. Happy reading! |

to step in. The news channels have a responsibility
to ensure that the free press in India does not come
under state monitoring, writes Kalyan
