steamed bananas

Steamed Wrapped Bananas and Glutinous Rice

Ingredients
Quantity

banana leaves

1 kilo
chili

uncooked glutinous rice

500 gm

coconut milk

2 cups

ripe bananas

1 bunch

cooked black beans

1/4 cup

cane sugar

1 cup
chili

salt

2 tsp

Preparation

1) Mix the sugar, salt and coconut milk in a large saucepan over low heat until well combined.

2) Add the rice and continue cooking, stirring until the rice has absorbed all the liquid and is cooked.

3) Cut each banana crosswise and lengthwise into 4 pieces.

4) Fold two tablespoons of the rice mixture, one banana piece and 5-6 beans into the banana leaves (two leaves per serving).

5) Steam the folded leaves over rapidly boiling water for about 30 minutes.
