Dishing on Classic Chicago
|

From the Sears Tower to the Magnificent Mile, the Mayors Daley to Barack Obama, the Windy City lays claim to myriad icons. But arguably none better define the Second City than its great culinary contribution: the deep dish pizza. New York's Kobe Club Lands
in Miami

Restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow doesn't stay put for long. The latest from the man behind Miami's Blue Door, China Grill and Tuscan Steak is a South Beach outpost of his New York steakhouse Kobe Club (yes, the very same restaurant that provoked Chodorow to take out a full-page ad in the New York Times last year lambasting critic Frank Bruni). Situated in a much smaller space than its New York sibling, Kobe Club Miami will retain the original's dark Japanese theme (i.e. hundreds of samurai swords dangle above the bar). The dinner menu is similar too, with dishes ranging from Kobe beef tartare prepared tableside ($34) to a 10 oz. Japanese Wagyu rib-eye ($240). 404 Washington Ave.; 305-673-5370 Recent Notable Openings: Restaurants:
