Roger Doeren, international bestselling author Anthony Horowitz and Vivien Jennings celebrated a SOLD OUT Bookselling & Booksigning Author Event on Saturday, January 19, 2008, at 11:00 AM, at Unity Temple on The Plaza, Charles Fillmore Chapel, 707 W 47th Street, Kansas City, Missouri.  Anthony Horowitz, author of Snakehead, traveled all the way from his home in England to meet his fans here in the Heartland at our Event and he was thrilled with the warmth of our Midwestern hospitality, especially on a winter day with a -3 degree temperature.  Anthony gave us an entertaining presentation and talked with enthusiasm at length with the audience about his stories and writing style.  The audience was thrilled with Anthony and we welcome him back for his next book.

Author:  Dr. Pauline W. Chen attended Harvard University and the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University and completed her surgical training at Yale University, the National Cancer Institute (National Institutes of Health), and UCLA, where she was most recently a member of the faculty.  In 1999, she was named the UCLA Outstanding Physician of the Year.  Dr. Chen's first nationally published piece, Dead Enough? The Paradox of Brain Death, appeared in the fall 2005 issue of The Virginia Quarterly Review and was a finalist for a 2006 National Magazine Award.  She is also the 2005 co-winner of the Staige D. Blackford Prize for Nonfiction and was a finalist for the 2002 James Kirkwood Prize in Creative Writing.  She lives near Boston with her husband and children.
