For teachers of grades
pre-kindergarten to twelve.
On Saturday January 26, 2008 from
9:45 am to 1:00 pm, luncheon to follow (until 2:30 pm).
At UFT Manhattan Headquarters, 52
Broadway (near Wall Street).
JOIN US for a unique opportunity in
learning to incorporate creative and interdisciplinary lessons about
chickens, and other animals raised on farms, into the curriculum.
Karen Davis, Ph.D., Director of United Poultry Concerns, an
organization that promotes the respectful treatment of domestic fowl,
will be our keynote speaker. Workshop leaders will include Carol Moon
of Farm Sanctuary and members of the UFT/Humane Education Executive
Board.
This program will include a cooking
demonstration, breakfast and lunch. In addition to grade-appropriate
materials and workshops for grades pre-k to 1,2 - 6,7-12, there will
be an opportunity to network with speakers and colleagues.
