Chic Munich (850th anniversary of the city)
Baroque and Italianate, Munich also boasts cutting-edge architecture: from Coop Himmelb(l)au to Herzog and De Meuron, the greatest names are represented here. Bavaria's capital is also the birthplace of today's most influential designer, Konstantin Grcic. From a restaurant (like Cafe Brenner) to a church (like Herz Jesu Kirche), from a contemporary art museum to a spa (like that at the Dorint Sofitel Bayerpost), from a head office (like BMW's) to a shopping arcade (like Fünf Höfe) without forgetting hotels (Kempinski), design and contemporary architecture can be seen in very different venues.
Our best wishes for 2008!
Every month there are over 20 million of you who look to us for advice when it's time to map out an itinerary, find a restaurant or reserve a hotel room... In 2007 our reporters travelled all over Europe so that you might discover its most beautiful regions, with an eye to uncovering rare pearls, exceptional products and the latest hot spots... Not to mention the latest motorcar news and rendezvous. For 2008, we're preparing an even friendlier ViaMichelin website so that we can all share our love of travel, gastronomy and automobiles.
