NEW TRICKTIP: NOLLIE FLIPS WITH GREG MYERS
Go to the video section at dcshoes.com for a fresh tricktip… this week we’re serving up footage of Greg Myers teaching nollie flips. Greg now resides here in San Diego, so we simply headed down the street to the DC training facility to grab the quick lesson from him.

We’ve also uploaded the tricktip video as free podcast on iTunes... go here.
PLAN B KICKFLIP MANUALS WITH GALLANT
On the subject of skate tricktips, this week our friends at Plan B posted a new one from Ryan Gallant at www.skateboarding.com: kickflip manuals. More accurately, Ryan goes through all the bits and pieces in this three part tricktip: first kickflips, then kickflip manuals, and finally kickflip nosemanuals. Follow this link.
EDDIE WALL BAGS THE COVER OF THE TRANSWORLD PHOTO ISSUE
Eddie Wall has scored the cover of the TransWorld Snowboarding Photo Issue with a shot from Chile during a summertime trip. It’s an artsy backside 180, with an “assisted” nosegrab thrown in for good measure. The “assist” came courtesy of Jake Welch, who reached out and grabbed Eddie’s tail as he was on the chairlift alongside Eddie.

Inside the photo annual you’ll get more photos of the DC team, namely a nice one of Chas with a nose block on a New Hampshire shingle roof… TransWorld also hooks up the story behind that Nate Christenson photo.

The TransWorld Snowboarding Photo Issue is in shops now.
DANE REYNOLDS ON THE SURFING MAG COVER
Dane Reynolds kicks off this month's Surfing Magazine by scoring the cover shot, deep in a Teahupo'o barrel. Despite the cover photo from the South Pacific, this issue focus on other spots around the world, namely the Southern California and the recent wild fires--while devastation was happening on land, the pieces came together in the water making for the best conditions in recent memory.... Surfing has the photos to prove it. The February 2008 issue of Surfing is in shops now.

Stay tuned... next week we're hooking up a new Dane Reynolds video at dcshoes.com.
PASTRANA LANDS ON THE RACER X COVER
“This is The Life.” That’s the headline that accompanies a Travis Pastrana photo on the cover of this month’s Racer X Illustrated as the mag caught up with Travis at the Glamis Sand Dunes in California. (Glamis served as the site of one of the premieres of Thrillbillies).

As Racer X notes, even though Travis rarely races these days he’s still the most well-known dirt bike rider on the p***t. The nine-page article inside focuses on how that’s possible, including notes about the state of Travis’ life right now and how ridiculously cool it is. One day he’s jumping out of an airp*** without a parachute. The next, trying a solo mission at the Baja 1000 on a stock dirt bike.

The February ’08 issue of Racer X Illustrated is on stands now.
DC’s ROBBIE MADISON SETS NEW MOTORCYCLE DISTANCE JUMP WORLD RECORD
Robbie had to pin it and get up to 94 mph to make the jump.
A big congratulations to DC flow team rider Robbie Madison who set a new world record for longest jump on a motor bike! He did it in front of the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, beating a record that the late great Evil Knievel said could never be broken. Robbie flew a huge 322’7” on a CR450 to set the new record (get photos and more info here at www.twmx.com).

The jump launched Robbie 60 feet high, giving him another world record.
Even though the World Record is now his, this isn’t the end of Robbie’s distance jumping days. On March 29 he’ll try and jump even further in Melbourne, Australia, saying, “There is definitely more left in the tank and I believe, with the support of the Aussie crowd and the awesome facilities being constructed, I will be able to nudge the 340-foot mark.” Stay tuned!

20 QUESTIONS & ANSWERS WITH RICHARDS AND WALL IN SNOWBOARDER
Eddie flies, Renee Renee supports.

This month’s issue of Snowboarder Magazine sees a face off between Todd Richards and Eddie Wall as the two answer questions in a combo interview. Asking the questions for this chat is Shaun White, and he covers everything from the weirdest thing Todd and Eddie have ever done as pros to the circumstances surrounding the apparent theft of Eddie’s DC ring.

While you’ve got February 2008 issue in your mitts, look for “Fresh and Tracked” with Lauri Heiskari. It covers what’s hot (Air-Hog Helicopters) and what’s not (meatheads) in snowboarding right now.

COREY BOHAN, CHRIS DOYLE INTERVIEWS IN RIDE BMX

This month’s Ride BMX Magazine has a couple of solid features on two members of the DC team: Chris Doyle and Corey Bohan. Chris kicks off the issue by answering questions sent in by readers (check out Ride’s website for even more rider-asked, Chris-answered questions). Later in the issue, on page 52, is the official “Number One Dirt Jumper” interview. Corey won an unprecedented fourth NORA Cup this year, so the interview covers how Corey feels about winning it again, plus his thoughts on the future of dirt comps and his latest efforts in park riding. The February 2008 issue of Ride BMX is out now.
